After Ashes — A Physical Work in Progress

After Ashes has lived digitally for a while now, but I’ve been quietly working toward something more tangible.

This EP was bound to happen. This is my ‘favorite’ vocalist to use in my songs so wanted ‘him’ to be my very first release. The EP intentionally moves through each song: entry, endurance, release, surrender, confrontation, reflection and acceptance. The song order is a story.  Once I decided on that, it was just a natural progression to want to find a way to professionally have this printed even if it is only for me at the start, to have tangible evidence of what I’ve been working towards for a year now.

What I’m sharing here is a work in progress: the cover, and the CD face design — all parts of the same visual language. This isn’t a finished product yet, but it’s close enough to feel real. Close enough to imagine holding it.

The idea of having a limited physical run — felt important to me to do as I said like a natural progression. Not as a mass release, but as a tangible artifact of this chapter of Into The Ether.

I’m currently finalizing details and preparing a small test run before deciding on next steps. More to come soon.
